Hassan SEIFEDDINE (1911-1985)
Lebanese painter born in Beirut.
Education at the Italian Dominican School in Beirut.
Diploma of the Rome Hotech Institute of Fine Arts (1960).
Painter’s career pursued in parallel to a civil servant career at the Ministry of National Economy of Lebanon.
Head of the Lebanese pavilion at the international fairs of Trieste and Bari (Italy), Leipzig (Germany), Poznan (Poland), Cairo (Egypt), Bagdad (Iraq), and Casablanca ( Morocco).
Artistic work essentially dedicated to the representation of nature (still lifes, landscapes, portraits and scenes of daily life), using a variety of techniques (oil, gouache, and pastels) in a style predominantly realistic.
Individual exhibitions in Lebanon, and participation in collective exhibits in Lebanon and abroad.
- Knight of the National Cedar Order of Lebanon 1957
- Officer of the National Merit Order of the Italian Republic 1955.
- Silver medal of the regional exhibition of Italian painters (Rome 1960).
